「とりあえず」の意味と使い方/Meaning and Usage of Toriaezu

Have you ever noticed when people use the word とりあえず?

One expression you will hear very often is "とりあえず、なまビール!" ("For now, a draft beer!").

A word similar to とりあえず is まず ("first"), but とりあえず is not just about the order of actions.

In this case, とりあえず means:

"We'll decide on the other orders later, but for now, let's order a draft beer."

Let's look at another example.

Imagine you are injured while hiking in the mountains. There is no hospital nearby, and you don't have any medicine or bandages. However, you do have a handkerchief.

You decide to go to the hospital later, but for now, you press the wound with your handkerchief.

In this situation, you would say:

"とりあえず,ハンカチできずをおさえる"
("For now, I'll press the wound with a handkerchief.")

In this way, とりあえず is used when you mean, "I'll deal with the other things later, but for now, I'll do this first."

大家什么时候会听到 「とりあえず」 这个词呢？

最常听到的，大概就是：

「とりあえず、生ビール！」
（“先来一杯生啤！”）

和 「とりあえず」 意思相近的词是 「まず」（首先），但是 「とりあえず」 并不仅仅表示顺序。

在上面的例子中，「とりあえず」 的意思是：

“其他的菜等一下再点，现在先点一杯生啤。”

再来看一个例子。
